How Adult Counselling Can Help

There are many reasons why people choose to begin counselling. You don't need to be experiencing a crisis to benefit from therapy.

Counselling can provide the time and space to better understand yourself, process difficult experiences and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges.

I support adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Stress and burnout

  • Low mood and depression

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Relationship and family difficulties

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Life transitions and change

  • Work-related challenges

  • Feeling overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted

  • Personal growth and self-discovery

Whatever your circumstances, therapy provides an opportunity to pause, reflect and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

My Integrative Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than following a single model. This allows me to tailor therapy to your unique experiences, personality and goals.

I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is one of the most important parts of therapy. By creating a warm, trusting and collaborative environment, I aim to help you feel safe enough to explore whatever is important to you.

Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable, supporting you as you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and confidence.

What to Expect

Beginning counselling can feel like a significant step, particularly if you've never experienced therapy before. My aim is to make the process as welcoming and supportive as possible.

Free Initial Conversation

We'll begin with a free, no-obligation conversation to discuss what has brought you to counselling and answer any questions you may have.

Your First Session

Your first appointment is an opportunity to explore your reasons for seeking therapy, discuss your goals and decide how we can work together. There is no pressure to share everything straight away. Therapy develops at your pace.

Ongoing Support

As counselling progresses, we'll regularly review your progress and ensure therapy continues to meet your needs. You remain in control throughout the process and can pause, review or end therapy whenever you feel ready.

Face-to-Face and Online Counselling

I offer flexible counselling to suit your individual needs.

Face-to-Face Counselling

Sessions are available from my welcoming therapy rooms in Skipton and Cowling, providing calm, comfortable spaces where you can feel safe to talk openly.
